What happens when you get in touch
Where is W. Martin & Son based?
We are at Bakers Lane, Black Notley, Braintree, Essex CM77 8QS. The Martin family has cared for horses from Essex since 1890, and we collect from Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Greater London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex. When can I call?
Our office is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm and Saturday from 8am to 12pm. You can call 01376 331136 at any time, and we will arrange collection at a time that suits you.
What happens after I get in touch?
We will ask where your horse is and what has happened, talk you through individual and communal cremation with no pressure, confirm the price, then arrange collection from your home, stable or veterinary practice, often the same or the next day. Read our four step equine cremation process in full.
What if my horse is at the veterinary practice?
We collect directly from veterinary practices across the region. Tell your vet that you would like W. Martin & Son to care for your horse, and we will arrange everything with them.
How much will it cost?
Individual cremation starts from £650, with your horse’s ashes returned to you in around a week. Communal cremation starts from £330, where ashes are not returned. Collection is included in both. See our full equine cremation price list or read the questions horse owners ask us most.
